Scary Story

I've written a scary story today (for storytelling) that will knock your socks off -- really. I actually started the thing last week. On Tuesday, I had only made one draft and then darted off to my critique group. They are always helpful with lots of suggestions. After my read through, the little group just set there with dropped jaws. I knew I was on to something! Then, I tested it on my husband. He must comply with my "trying out stuff" on him, because, well ... he just must, so there. After I finished, he looked at me and shivered. After he recovered his breath, he said, "That made the hair stand up on the back of my neck." I thought, "Boy! I'm really on to something big!" So, GET READY EVERYONE! I will tell the story on WMOX Talk Radio, Meridian MS, on October 22, and again, at the Mississippi Storytelling Festival on October 24 at The Meridian Activities Center. I've slugged it, "Eva Nell Kitchens -- Healer, Murderer, or Survivor?" Tune in and find out.
